Kia Partners Up with NYK Logistics - Based on dealer location the parts will be sorted out and loaded on a milk-run truck.

As of August 2009 NYK Logistics performs the night delivery of spare parts for car manufacturer Kia in Belgium and Luxemburg. Within its cross dock centre in Sint Katelijne Waver, NYK Logistics has successfully integrated the deliveries of its new customer Kia earlier this mo nth within the existing spare parts distribution network. For this new account NYK Logistics will perform the after-sales spare parts distribution to the 90 Kia dealers in Belgium and Luxemburg. On a yearly base this will represent additional 15.000 drops.

The entire distribution process will be performed during the night. In the evening the ordered spare parts are delivered from the Kia warehouse in Lummen to the NYK Logistics cross dock centre. Based on dealer location the parts will be sorted out and loaded on a milk-run truck. During the night, this truck will deliver the parts to the relevant garages and dealers.

With an existing night distribution network for spare parts delivery to car dealers and repair shops in the Benelux and France, NYK Logist ics has set the tone for state-of- the- art night deliveries: fast, reliable, competitive. Via this network, established in 2001, NYK Logistics offers this specialised service to numerous car manufacturers enabling them all to benefit from the economies of scale of a joint delivery network.
